Fourth Blogaversary Overview and Contest Winners!

Hello there all you amazing and wonderful people!

September was a busy month for myself as I had my Fourth Blogaversary (woo!) along with throwing a party for it and having tonssss of contests. We're going to break this down into a few parts, the party, and then the contests. Lets zoom right in for this blogaversary overview!

Trivia Tuesday: What's this "Twitter Tag Game"?

What is this "Twitter Tag Game" everyone on Twitter keeps talking about? All I see is #TwitterTagGame this and #TwitterTagGame that. What's it all about?

That is how I was like yesterday. As Christina Lionrider later told me, the Twitter Tag Game is when you share 5 things/facts about yourself and you tag/nominate 5 others to do the same. When I finally figured out what it was, I was eager to be nominated for it but most people had already done theirs.... When I thought all hope was lost, Jason Goldenshield and Sorceress Miklai had extra spots to nominate so I got the chance to tell you all a few things about me! Since today is also Trivia Tuesday, I figured why not put the two together and do something interesting. So.. Let's get to it!

Walk the Plank Wednesday: What to Improve?

Hello there everyone!

I'm nearly 100% back in the swing of things and I figured that since it's the third Wednesday of the month, I'll start bringing back Walk the Plank Wednesday! For those of you who may be new to my blog or have never seen one of my WtPW posts, here's how it goes.

Walk the Plank Wednesday takes place on the 3rd Wednesday of every month in which I make a post where I interact with you and you can win an assortment of prizes such as KIFG Codes, Hoards, and maybe once in a while, a few Crowns! How do you enter? You just follow the instructions in that post and hope you win! Now, onto this months Walk the Plank Wednesday!

Let The Games... Begin!

Hello there Wizards and Pirates alike.

Blaze Shadowhorn here and as many of you know, September 12th was my fourth blogaversary! This has been such a huge milestone and I wanted to share this special time with all of you! As you keep reading, I will be clarifying details regarding my party and giving you all tons of information about contests and raffles I'm doing this week leading up to the party where you can win tons of amazing prizes. Let the games begin!

Happy Blogaversary to Me!

"Started from the bottom now we're here. Started from the bottom now my whole team here." Yes... I just quoted Drake... >.<

Hey everyone!!!!

Do you know what yesterday was? You're all smart cookies so you can probably tell from the title but it was my Fourth Blogaversary! I can't believe it has been four years (and a day) since I started Tales of the Spiral or as it used to be known as, Mywizard101site. That's like 1,460 days (and today)... Crazy right? I would just like to say thank you to all of you because without you, where would I be? What would I gain motivation from? You guys inspire me to keep blogging so thank you for giving me your ears.

When thinking about what to do for this post, I had a few ideas. I'm going to give you an inside look at the progression of TotS and how it evolved graphics wise (you can make fun of my artistic abilities here) and than I will tell you all about an awesome surprise I have in store to celebrate this milestone. So, let's get to it!

Four incredible years...

It's crazy how time flies.... One day you are creating a new website on Webs.com hoping that someone will read it. Next day you are creating graphic art and coding for your website to make it appeal to your 150 followers. Before you know it, you are at 223 Followers that come along with a crazy 135,000 page views. Four years. It has been four years since I started Tales of the Spiral or as it used to be known as, Mywizard101site.

As many of you know from my tweeting today and over the past few days, I have been ridiculously busy with school, job interviews, and studying for the ACT. I have had no time at all this week to work on my blogaversary post so I am making this quick one to just say how much I appreciate all of the support you have given me these past four years. I wouldn't be here without you guys and your support truly means the world to me. I will be going much more in depth with this all tomorrow as I make my official blogaversary post so check back then because I've got lots of amazing news to tell you!

Hope you all had an amazing week and I will see you.... tomorrow!

Never Forget the Fallen

Every year, I try finding a new angle to talk about this day, September 11th, and what it means to myself and our nation.

Thirteen years ago, two airplanes crashed into the World Trade Center towers in New York, one went into the side of the Pentagon and one into a field in Pennsylvania. My father was driving to the Pentagon that day for a meeting he had and it was supposed to be a regular day. I was in Pre-School, 5 years old to be exact, and my mom suddenly came and got me from school. I had no idea why or what was going on. Next thing I know, I was at home and I saw my mom sitting in front of the TV screen, watching what I would later know as the first two planes hitting the World Trade Center. My mom wasn't sure what was going on and so she called my father who was already driving to the Pentagon and she told him to come home. She had a weird feeling and was preferring that he came home immediately during this time. This call from my mom may have saved his life. What felt like a half hour later, the next plane hit the Pentagon and my mom let out a sad sigh of relief. It was a tragedy knowing that so many people were losing their lives yet by a chance of luck, my father was able to avoid this and arrive home safely.

To be completely honest, I never know how to write posts such as this. What am I supposed to talk about when it deals with a national tragedy? It's always a difficult topic to write about, yet sometimes the best things to say require the least effort.

I found this prayer by a Navy Chaplain in regards to 9/11 and I feel like it is well worth the share.

"Almighty God, the past year will be indelibly inscribed in our memories.

We looked with horror on the terrorist attacks of last September 11th. But we looked with honor on acts of courage by ordinary people who sacrificed themselves to prevent further death and destruction.

We shed our tears in a common bond of grief for those we loved and lost. We journeyed through a dark valley, but your light has led us to a place of hope. You have turned our grief into determination. We are resolved to do what is good, and right, and just.

Help us to remember what it means to be Americans— a people endowed with abundant blessings. Help us to cherish the freedoms we enjoy and inspire us to stand with courage, united as one Nation in the midst of any adversity.

Lord, hear this prayer for our Nation. Amen." -A Navy Chaplain

We shall never forget the horrors of this day and all the lives that were lost. We as a Nation will only get stronger and will always be there for one another during these tough times.

Keep those who have fallen in your hearts.
Have a nice day,
-Blaze

A Tragic Loss...

This morning at 10:52am in Paris, France, A tragedy occurred. After waking up, I found it unable to work or process vital information. The love of my life had finally left me. RIP my laptop. You were such an amazing friend and I will miss you dearly. Although this means no video games for 2 weeks until I get back to America, this also means I can't type up my English Summer Homework essays so woohoo! You will be missed. Hopefully we will be able to retrieve your soul and move your memories over into another computer.

Thank you for all you have done.

With much love,
Blaze

So yeah, I'm typing this on my phone quickly but unfortunately there will be no posts until I get back to the states and get a new laptop which will be around mid August. I'll keep you updated on my travels in France whenever I have wifi so make sure to check my twitter for all the info.
Hope you guys have a great summer!
-Blaze

P.S. It's not letting me schedule this post so it's super early in the morning for you all haha.

Au Revoir!

Hey everyone!

I say au revoir to you all as in a few hours I leave to France!
An exciting journey awaits me as I have never been there before. So much to see, so much to do, so little much time. Two whole weeks!! Anyways, I will be staying at my grandmothers yet was just informed that she does not have wifi so it will be much harder to get posts up within the next two weeks. I'll try going to a coffee shop here and there to publish a few posts but don't be expecting 4 or so posts a week until I get back to the States on August 12th.

Ladies and gentlemen of the Spiral, I bid you adieu as I embark on this amazing journey. Keep the Twittersphere rockin' and may the festivities continue!

Hope you have an amazing rest of your summer!

A Quick Catch-up

Hey everyone! So I've been meaning to post a lot lately but I just had finals week and have been very busy. Although I am now done with school, I leave on a 2 month international trip this coming Wednesday so I won't be posting much during this time ether. Now, something just came to my mind regarding why I got back into Wizzy. I tend to try doing too many tasks at the same time and I realized that I can't do everything at once. I figured that since I came back, I will only be posting here and there (when I get the chance to) and will be playing Wizzy when I get the chance. You will see me in Wizzy a lot though if you are on. So yeah, this is just a catch-up post to keep you informed on whats going on.

Hope you all had a nice week!

A Warm Welcome

Hello there Wizards and Pirates alike!

It is I, Blaze Shadowhorn.  As many of you may have noticed, this past year I was inactive as I had retired from the Kingsisle gaming community and moved on to focus on school and other things. The thought of coming back has been in the back of my mind for quite some time. Sadly, I knew what my priorities were and decided to focus on my schooling and real life. A little over a week ago, I was looking through my laptop photos looking for a photo to post on my friends Facebook for his birthday. I came across something that brought back grand memories. In a sub-folder hidden away, I found a recording my mom made of when I co-hosted the first episode of my retired Podcast – Spiral Live alongside co-host Nicholas Lionrider. My, did it bring back memories.

The next day, my mom and I were talking and she told me the following, “Do what you want in life. You will only find happiness if you truly are passionate about something.” This got me thinking. Wizard101 was something that I had played since 5th grade. If you didn’t know, I’m currently in 11th. Nearly 7 years of my life I have spent playing both Wizard101 and Pirate101 and I realized that this is one of the only things that has always given me unconditional happiness. If I was ever down, I did a few quests and caught up with many of you. I was telling my friend last week that I have truly made the best friends throughout my years of playing Wizard101 and Pirate101. Throughout the past year, I kept in touch with some of you and would check up on the news once in a blue moon but I’ve missed being a part of the community and I have realized that this is what I need to do. Blogging, questing, and just hanging with all of you makes me happy and I so I decided to make a return to the community to be with all of you. You may be wondering what is new or going to change on the blog. Well I’ve got a ton of great ideas so keep reading to see what’s new!

It's Been A While & Big Announcement!!! :D

Hey guys! Sorry it's been a while since I've posted. The past few weeks I was uber uber sick and had to go to the doctors multiple times and had to get blood work done. Needless to say, I was worried about getting blood work done since I never went threw it before but thanks to some of you who talked to me about it over Twitter, it was easier to overcome :) Anyways, I'm feeling much better now but the worst part is that finals week is next week o_O. I'm super not ready and I have to devote time to that so I can pass my finals and get good grades so bare with me just a bit more.In addition to that, I have a big announcement I want to make so keep reading for what I have to share.
